O Convento de Mafra ou também chamado Palácio Nacional de Mafra é um fabuloso monumento do século XVIII mandado construir por D. João V, em virtude de uma promessa que fizera no caso de a rainha D. Maria Ana da Áustria lhe dar descendência.
Lembro-me bem de o visitar em criança, sempre me pareceu grandioso e continua a parecer. Existe a possibilidade de o visitar por dentro, o que há já uns bons anos não faço. No entanto, a bela biblioteca que é o seu maior tesouro, com chão em mármore, estantes em estilo rococó e uma coleção de mais de 36.000 livros, permanece bem gravada na minha memória. Fica aqui a promessa de que um destes dias o visitaremos por dentro. Bem merece!
O Palácio possui ainda dois carrilhões, mandados fabricar na Antuérpia e em Liège por D. João V, com um total de 98 sinos que pesam mais de 200 toneladas e constituem um dos maiores carrilhões históricos do mundo. Não sei se ainda se realizam mas, há uns anos, havia concertos dos carrilhões todos os domingos. Recordo-me ainda de, há algum tempo atrás, ter ouvido dizer que não havia quem os soubesse tocar como os mestres de antigamente, agora já muito idosos.
Neste passeio usei o meu vestido Iona Pink da Pepa Loves, marca que, como já sabem, ADORO! :)Utilizei também o já conhecido casado Leslie Green da mesma marca. O verde menta é lindo e a fazenda tem um toque fabuloso. Está agora em promoção para quem quiser aproveitar. A Pepa Loves tem muito cuidado com os detalhes. Reparem na delícia dos forros do vestido e do casaco. O resto são peças bem antigas, a mala é da Benneton e as botas da Proof.
Ainda houve tempo para um lanchinho rápido na "Fradinho", onde os doces são divinais, como manda a localização, mesmo em frente ao Convento. Os "Fradinhos", os bolinhos ex-libris da casa são mesmo de deixar água na boca, mas os croissants com chocolate ou creme, e as broas de frutos secos são para mim as verdadeiras tentações.

I remember well visiting it in childwood, always seemed great and still looks. It is possible to visit the inside, but I haven't been there in the last few years. The Palace also has two chimes, manufactured in Antwerp and Liege by John V, with a total of 98 bells weighing more than 200 tons and is one of the most historic chimes in the world. I don't know if they still do it but, a few years ago, there were concerts chimes every Sunday afternoon. Yet I remember, some time ago, I have heard that nowadays there is no one to play the chimes like the old masters did. They are too old now.
On this tour I used my Pink Iona Dress of Pepa Loves, a brand that, as you know, I LOVE! :) I also used the already known Leslie Green Coat of the same brand. The mint green is beautiful and the tissue has a fabulous touch. Is now on sale, so, those who want buy it, should do it right now. Details are very important to this brand. Note the delight of similar dress and coat linings. The other ones are very old pieces, the bag is from Benetton and the boots from Proof.
There was still time for a quick snack in the "Fradinho", where cakes, biscuits and all are divine, as should be by the location, opposite to the Convent. The "Fradinho's", ex-libris cookies with the same name, are mouth-watering, but the croissants with chocolate or cream and the nuts biscuits are the real temptation to me.
